Duties of civil police
The civil police of the state has to perform certain general duties for the maintenance of law and order society. They are briefly stated as follows :
1. Serving and protecting the citizens;
2 . Engaging the citizens and gaining their cooperation.
3 . Policing of beat ;
4 . Patrolling
5 . Collecting intelligence to support police work ;
6 . Traffic duties ;
7 . Investigating and inquiring the case reported to them and maintenance of police station reports, registers, records etc.
8 . Auxiliary duties such as technology support, special skill support and other outdoor duties.
